Chuck Jones' path to Lambda Chi Alpha began when his twin brother, a member himself, invited Chuck to visit the chapter house at Sam Houston State University. Though his fraternity Brothers sometimes confused Chuck with his biological brother, leading to some unintended consequences, Chuck felt welcomed by the small, close-knit group. He appreciated the sense of service to others and the leadership opportunities the fraternity provided.

Serving as High Phi (Ritualist) and High Rho (Alumni Liaison), Chuck helped anchor the newly recolonized group. The fraternity, like Sam Houston State, instilled the values of enriching one's faith, family, community, and teammates. Chuck remains in touch with many of his Brothers from the 1970s, confident he could still count on them today.

Chuck and his brother grew up in poverty with a single mother earning as little as $1.10 an hour at three jobs. Early on, she instilled the importance of education in her sons. Chuck funded his college expenses in part by cashing in Coke bottles at the local Piggly Wiggly. He was determined to not let others face similar hardship. Over 275 students have benefited from Chuck's generosity toward academic scholarships, which he established in partnership with his loving wife Debbie, whom he married in 2012.

Giving back to Lambda Chi Alpha became Chuck's vehicle for serving others. Through his work on the Educational Foundation board, Chuck grew to appreciate the fraternity's ever-growing message focused on bettering one's communities. He hopes his legacy inspires others to lead lives of service for centuries to come.

To Chuck, Lambda Chi Alpha has been a lifetime relationship that only gets richer over time. He encourages all Brothers to stay involved beyond college, saying "Make sure that you take full advantage of it. It'll enrich your life. Too often we get through college and we decide that's the extent of our involvement with Lambda Chi. [But] it truly is, more than anything I have done… a lifetime relationship." Chuck's friends and connections span generations and continents, greatly enriching his life. For him, Lambda Chi provided the first lessons in leadership and treating others well. Those seeds have grown into a lifetime of service to others.
